Winnie was born on May 15, 1927 in Columbiana to Clifford and Ruth Reese Esterly. Winnie had two siblings: John Esterly and Janet (Esterly) Blosser. Both preceded her in death. Winnie graduated from Columbiana High School in 1944 as Valedictorian. She went on to Miami University where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa in 1948. Winnie was born on May 15, 1927 in Columbiana to Clifford and Ruth Reese Esterly. Winnie had two siblings: John Esterly and Janet (Esterly) Blosser. Both preceded her in death. Winnie graduated from Columbiana High School in 1944 as Valedictorian. She went on to Miami University where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa in 1948. During several summers, she worked at the Chautauqua Resort. Also while in college, she learned how to play bridge—an avocation that would last throughout her life. She was to meet her husband and the love of her life, Chester Lee Urbschat on a blind date arranged by a lifelong friend Ben Weaver. At the time, Winnie was teaching at Fairmont High School in Kettering, Ohio. They married on June 24, 1951 in a ceremony held at the First Presbyterian Church of Columbiana where Winnie was a lifelong member. Chet died on December 14, 2006. Winnie leaves three daughters; Teresa Zimmerman and her husband, Bill of Vancouver, WA, Linda Muzzo of Columbus, Ohio, Ruth Phillips and her husband, Alan of Kent, Ohio; two sons, Bruce and his wife, Nancy Urbschat of Springfield, MA and William Urbschat of Columbiana. She also leaves eight grandchildren: Sara Campbell and Amy Zimmerman, Lauren and Leigh Urbschat, Joey Muzzo, and Tessa, Larry and Lee Phillips. She also was a proud great grandmother to Hudson and Carver Campbell and Olivia Zimmerman Navarro. Throughout her life, Winnie was an avid reader, bridge player and crossword puzzle master.
