Description	:	ARMSTRONG - Funeral services for Winnifred Ione Pedersen, 93, of Estherville, formerly Ringsted, will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Armstrong with Pastor Lauri Boysen officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at United Lutheran Church in Ringsted. Interment will be at Ringsted Memorial Cemetery in Ringsted. She died Sunday, July 17, 2011, at the Good Samaritan Society in Estherville. Winnifred Ione Pedersen, the daughter of Fred and Millie (Sampson) Neet, was born July 14, 1919, in Palo Alto County. She was baptized and confirmed in Lutheran Church in Ruthven. She received her education in rural Palo Alto school and attended high school in Graettinger and Emmetsburg, graduating in 1937. On Oct. 22, 1938, she was united in marriage to William A. Pedersen in Ringsted. To this union five children were born. Ione was a homemaker and worked 15 years as school cook in the Ringsted School System, retiring in 1979. The Pedersens spent their entire married life in Ringsted. Her husband, Bill, passed away Jan. 18, 1993. She was a member of United Lutheran Church in Ringsted where she was active in the ladies aid. For hobbies, Ione enjoyed sewing and cooking. Left to cherish Ione's memory are her daughter, Donna Brobst, and her husband, Don, of Mountain Home, Ark.; three sons, Kenneth Pedersen and his wife, Betty, of Gowrie, Gerald Pedersen and his wife, Kathy, of Las Vegas, Nev. and Ronald Pedersen Troy, Mich.; daughter-in-law, Debbie Pedersen, of Baltic, S.D.; 19 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; son, Dennis; three sisters, Hazel, Doris and Lois and four brothers, Archie, Lowell, Harold and Meriville.
