Description	:	Wyola Myrtle Ewing Bennett History: They were married January 9, 1929 in a double ceremony with Wyola's sister Louella who married Cyrus Tharp. He was a widower with two girls. They first lived on the Bivins place in Sioux County, NE for one year. In 1930, they moved to the factory farm at Mitchell Nebraska where their first son J. Bryan Bennett was born March 27, 1930. They first lived on the Bivins place in Sioux County, NE for one year. In 1930, they moved to the factory farm at Mitchell Nebraska where their first son J. Bryan Bennett was born March 27, 1930. In 1931, they moved to the Yocum farm in Mitchell Valley and in 1932 their second son Curtis Ewing was born. They then moved to Gering Valley on the Harley Shaver farm and lived there until they bought the Ralph Copper's place in 1942. In 1947, they built a new house. 1950 J. Bryan got married to Carol Buenik. Bryan and his wife lived on a farm east of Melvin and Wyola until he joined the United States Marine Corps in 1951. Curtis went to the Coast Guard three months later. Curtis married Dorothy Feidler in June of 1956. Melvin and Wyola moved to Terrytown, NE until their new home on 19th street in Gering was completed. It wsa ready to be moved into in January 1957. The built a new home for themselves and their three grand daughters (Susan, Derry and Tracy children of Curtis and Dorothy) on Beverly Street in Gering and moved into the house in August 1975. They lived with their grand daughters until the girls were of age. Susan moved out to go to college at University of Nebraska, Derry joined the United States Marine Corps, and Tracy got married. The family were members of Church of Christ. Contributor: Derry Bennett Creutz (47743145) Wyola was the beloved wife of Melvin Perry Bennett who had 2 sons Curtis and Bryan. She was a housewife and mother. Her father was a pioneer and she grew up in a sod house. Her early life was hard but she married a wonderful man who gave her a wonderful home and family. She always gave of herself tirelessly. She helped raise 3 granddaughters and was a wonderful 2nd mother. She was a member of the Central Church of Christ in Gering and devote christan. She always put everyone else before her and never thought of herself. She was loved for everything she did and all that she was as a mother, grandmother and wife. Wyola loved to sew and was a wonderful seamstress. Her Christmas stockings she made when we were small are still as perfect and wonderful as she was when she made them years ago. She is missed everyday because her laugh and her smile are now gone. God Bless you Grandma....until we meet again....Love You! There will never be another you.
