She had spent the past several weeks in the hospital there and had been in poor health for some time. The following provided by Fid A Grave contributor "Cara": The River Press, Fort Benton, Mont., 16 May 1956 Mrs. Frank Rowe Passed Away Saturday, May 12 Mrs. Zilla Lillian Rowe, wife of Frank Rowe, passed away at the Columbus hospital in Great Falls on Saturday. She had spent the past several weeks in the hospital there and had been in poor health for some time. The news of her death was a great shock to her many friends in this area where she had lived nearly all her life, part of the time on the Row ranch on the Missouri and part at their home in this city. Zilla Lillian Prodger, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Prodger, early day homesteaders in the Highwood section, was born on Feb. 22, 1901, at Alexander, Minnesota. She came west with her parents as a child and they settled at Kalispell. She came to Chouteau county in 1910, her father homesteading in the Highwood section, moving to the Shonkin section where they lived for many years. Miss Prodger was united in marriage to Frank Rowe, of this city, on Oct. 16, 1930, and since their marriage have spent most of their time on the Rowe ranch on the Missouri river, with their winters being spent at their home in this city. Mrs. Rowe was a member of the White Shrine Rebekah chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. She was a member of the Christian church. She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Laura Lee Crawford, of this city; and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Mary Klay, Shonkin; Mrs. Alta Riser and Mrs. Beth Allen, both of Fort Benton; Mrs. Zilpha Willis, Tacoma, Wash.; Fenwick and Robert Prodger, both of Great Falls; and other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held from the Benton Funeral Home chapel on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. Lloyd Hanley, pastor of the First Christian church. Burial was made in the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Great Falls. The relatives have the sincere sympathy of all in their hour of great sorrow.
