| Description | : | The former Evangelical Cemetery of Jelenia Góra (formerly Hirschberg i. Schlesien) was founded in the early 1700s along with the Lutheran Church of the Holy Cross. The cemetery featured many beautiful baroque epitaphs and ornate grave chapels built for the city's wealthier families. However, after the city was transferred to Poland following WWII, the cemetery was left completely neglected. In the 1960s the communist government, as part of a policy of removing any traces of Germanness from the so-called "Recovered Territories", decided to liquidate the cemetery.
