Description	:	The Church of St. Hedwig in Wleński Gródek (Lehnhaus prior to 1945) was first mentioned in 1346. It is believed to stand on the site of a very old castle chapel, perhaps dating to the 12th century. Local legend states that the chapel was founded by Saint Hedwig of Silesia after she received a vision of the Virgin Mary while staying in the castle with her husband, Duke Henry the Bearded. Read More	The Church of St. Hedwig in Wleński Gródek (Lehnhaus prior to 1945) was first mentioned in 1346. It is believed to stand on the site of a very old castle chapel, perhaps dating to the 12th century. Local legend states that the chapel was founded by Saint Hedwig of Silesia after she received a vision of the Virgin Mary while staying in the castle with her husband, Duke Henry the Bearded. In 1662 the castle's owner, Adam von Kaulhaus, began construction on a new church to replace the dilapidated original structure. In the crypt of the church are two large sacrophagi of the Grünfeld family, other later owners of the castle. There is also a small grave chapel on the north side of the church.
