Description	:	It is my understanding that this cemetery at one time was one city block. Bordered by E. Court Street to the south, Madison Street on the west, New Street to the North and Park Ave to the east. As the city of Marion grew the huge majority of the graves were moved to Oak Grove Cemetery. The McDowell County, NC Cemeteries book, published in 1995, states that there were 12 marked graves in the cemetery at that time. We photographed this cemetery on Mar 1, 2012 and found only nine.
