Description	:	This early cemetery was started in the 1780s in the area around the Shaws Station. Benyham Shaw and his wife, Mary(Elliott)and family came into kentucky with the Baptist group who founded Severans Valley church. A creek inside the city of Elizabethtown bears the name of Shaw-"Shaws Creek" as an early settler there.Shaw was there in the bitter winter of 1779, along with Brown, Swan, Van Meter and many more who set up camp in the middle of the indians hunting grounds.He moved south towards grayson county and established "Shaws Station" on 178o. Benyham Shaw and his wife, Mary(Elliott)and family came into kentucky with the Baptist group who founded Severans Valley church. A creek inside the city of Elizabethtown bears the name of Shaw-"Shaws Creek" as an early settler there.Shaw was there in the bitter winter of 1779, along with Brown, Swan, Van Meter and many more who set up camp in the middle of the indians hunting grounds.He moved south towards grayson county and established "Shaws Station" on 178o. It had never been documented as an early station until proved and had a Ky highway historical marker erected on old highway 62 in the year 1992 --200 years after Shaw first came into the county . Also changed the name of the old road nearby to "Shaws Station Road."
