Description | : | The South Dutch Church or Garden Street Church was built in 1693, when the Dutch Reformed Church left its Stone Church building in Fort Amsterdam for new accommodations on Garden Street (present-day Exchange Place) between Broad Street and William Street. The churchyard burial ground was established in 1701. It was the only churchyard burial ground of the Reformed Dutch Church in Manhattan from 1701 until 1731 when the Middle Dutch Church was opened.
