Description	:	St. Gregory's Priory was founded by Lanfranc, archbishop of Canterbury, in 1084 "for infirm men and women." Originally a house of Augustinian Canons Regular, it became a priory of Black Canons during the reign of Henry I. St. Gregory's was dissolved in 1535 and eventually demolished in 1848.
