Description : St. Peter's Church was built in the neoclassical style by the architect James Wyatt in 1788. It stood in St. Peter's Square, and was consecrated in 1794, it closed 26th August 1906 due to the declining city centre population and falling church attendances. After the church was demolished in 1907, a commemorative cross by Temple Moore was erected, the cross was unveiled in 1908. In 1924 a cenotaph designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens was erected in St Peter's Square, was unveiled 11 November 1924, (relocated 2014), which is the site for the city's Remembrance Day commemoration each year.
