Description	:	**Handwritten: Mch 1947 Abigail Daughrity Funeral Tuesday Final rites for Mrs. Abigail Daughrity, 100, Keosauqua's oldest citizen, were held at the Burnett Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock with the Rev. Treverton Warren in charge. Mrs. Daughrity died at her home in Keosauqua Sunday morning about 3:30 a.m. She had not been seriously ill until the time of her death. Burial was in the Purdom cemetery at Keosauqua. Pallbearers were Ream Daughrity, Selman Daughrity, Harry Daughrity, Lawrence Daughrity, Norwood Teal and Charles Morris. She was a member of a family of 12 children, all of whom lived to be over 90. Her parents were Andrew and Nancy Ferguson. She became the wife of John Daughrity of Keosauqua on October 16, 1865. He was in the grocery and implement business in Van Buren county after returning from the Civil War. He died 26 years ago. Mrs. Daughrity lived near her the home of her son, Paul, of Keosauqua. She was the mother of six children, four of whom are living. She had 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. She was a member of the Methodist church. Her other children are Lee Daughrity of Keokuk, Craig Daughrity of Des Moines and Mrs. Harry White of Amarillo, Texas. Source: Van Buren Co.
