Description	:	Injuries received in a motor car collision just east of Scranton last Wednesday evening were fatal to Mrs. James Thrasher of this place, whose death in a Topeka hospital at 2 o'clock Thursday morning followed the crash by only a few hours. She was 78 years old. The accident happened just beyond the 110 Creek bridge east of Scranton about 5 o'clock when the car in which she was a passenger and another driven by Dr. Ray Smith who was returning to Topeka, collided almost head on. With Mrs. Thrasher in the west-bound car were her daughter Mrs. Wm. Romstedt and D. Martin, both of Osage City. Martin, who was driving, was not seriously hurt, but Mrs.Romstedt was seriously cut on the forehead and received other cuts and bruises. Dr. Smith also escaped without serious injury. Ada Simpson, daughter of John and Anna Simpson, was born July 31, 1866, in Leeds, England and came with her parents to America at the age of seventeen years. She was married to James Pyle in 1884, and had continued to live in this community the remainder of her life. To his union were born seven children, six daughters and one son. A daughter, Mrs. Tom Weston, passed away in 1914. The remaining children are Mrs. Nellie Holmes of Scranton, Mrs. Maude Thomas of Topeka, Mrs. Anna Brown of Richmond, Mo., Mrs. Margaret Romstedt of Osage City, Mrs. Minnie Youngfliesch of Kansas City, Mo. and Pennell Pyle of Burlingame. There are also eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. In 1920 she was united in marriage to William Graham of Burlingame who died a few years later. Her marriage to James Thrasher took place March 5, 1930, who survives her in the comfortable home they both enjoyed, located near the depot. Mrs. Pyle was a loving mother and a kind neighbor and friend and very well known in this community, Funeral services were held in the Presbyterian Church Friday afternoon, December 10, at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev.
