Poor Adam sprang to his feet, staggered, gasped the words, "I'm shot" and fell dead in his brother Philip's arms. Mr. Brown was thirty-two years of age and was highly respected by all who knew him. His sudden and unexpected death fell like a terrible blow upon bis mother, brother and sisters, nearly crazing them with grief. The funeral, which was one of the largest ever held in Castle Grove, was held at the family residence on Saturday. The service were conducted by Rev. W. H. Barrows of the Cass Congregational church, after which the remains were borne to their last resting place in Prairie Hill cemetery, followed by a large concourse of sorrowing friends. The bereaved family have the heartfelt sympathy of the whole community.
