He then went to Ohio with his parents, and assisted in clearing the home farm. Adam was born 6 Aug. 1800 in Montgomery Co., Pa.; died 13 Nov. 1890 at his home in Thorncreek Tp., Whitley Co., Ind. In 1827 his parents moved to Fairfield Co., Ohio. He married Susan Shriner on 16 May 1822 and she had 11 children. They moved to Whitley County, Ind. in 1837. Susan died in 1841. His 2nd wife was Mrs. Lydia Witham whom he married on 22 Oct. 1842. Eight children were born of this marriage. He was brought up in the Lutheran faith.
