He was born Jan. 30, 1918 at Aurora to Frank and Celia Martel LeClair. He attended St. Joseph Catholic School for eight years and then Clyde High School. He married Aldia M. Peltier Jan. 19, 1948, at Concordia. He served overseas as a flight mechanic for the army-air Corps during World War II. He had lived and farmed his entire life in the St. Joseph area. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic church in St. Joseph and St. John the Baptist Catholic church of Clyde. He also was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Posts 7515 of Clyde and 588 of Concordia. He served as commander of Post 7515. He was a former member of the American Legion Post 227 of Clifton. Survivors include his wife, Aldia LeClair of Clyde; three sons, Robert LeClair and wife Mary of Salina, Richard LeClair and wife Julie of Clyde and Michael LeClair of Concordia; a sister, Irene Peterson of Clyde; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and four brothers. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 13, at the St. John the Baptist church in Clyde with the Revs. LeRoy Metro and Louis Mattas officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery at Clyde with military graveside services by the VFW Post #588. Vigil services will be at 7 p.m., Wednesday, at the Chaput Mortuary. Memorial may be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Friends may call at the Chaput Mortuary in Clyde.
