Description	:	Addie Irma Lawrence, youngest daughter of Charles and Emma Benedict Lawrence was born January 31, 1901 at Osceola, Iowa and passed away May 17, 1962 at the age of 61 years, 3 months, and 16 days. The family moved to Wisconsin and when she was seven years old they returned to Adams County, Iowa where she spent the remainder of her life. Read More	Addie Irma Lawrence, youngest daughter of Charles and Emma Benedict Lawrence was born January 31, 1901 at Osceola, Iowa and passed away May 17, 1962 at the age of 61 years, 3 months, and 16 days. The family moved to Wisconsin and when she was seven years old they returned to Adams County, Iowa where she spent the remainder of her life. She was united in marriage to Francis Merl Brown on February 24, 1921. To Merl and Addie three children were born, Doris, Robert, and Harold. She was an active member of the Nodaway Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters, a brother and sister who died in infancy. Surviving are her husband, Merl, her daughter, Doris Clark of Nodaway, sons, Robert of Corning and Harold of Nodaway, a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Daisy Brown; five grandchildren, Beverly and Ronald Brown and Randall, Gary, and Carole Jeanne Clark; one sister, Mrs. Ruth Mitchell of Corning, two brothers, Ernest of Brooks and Harold of Chicago, Illinois; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Addie was a friend to all and was especially devoted to her family, never happier than when caring for her grandchildren whom she loved very dearly. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 19, at 2 p.m. from the Methodist Church in Nodaway, Iowa, with Rev. Clarence Moore officiating. Music was by Mrs. Malcolm Shipley, Mrs. Darwin Lewis, and Mrs. Carl Johnson. Pall bearers were Alvin Mitchell, Kenneth Agnew, Marvin Lawrence, Paul Mitchell, Paul Brown, and William Myers. Flowerbearers were Mrs. Virgil Willey and Mrs. Will O'Riley. Interment was in the Nodaway Cemetery. Adams County Free Press, May 31, 1962, page 4
