KENNEDY, ADDIE MARIE MARIE--Mrs. Roy Kennedy passed away at the Silver Aged rest home in Fairbury, Neb., about midnight Monday, January 21, 1963, aged 66 years, 7 months and 19 days. She was found ill at her home in Fairbury Thursday afternoon by a friend, who had her taken to Silver Aged rest home. Addie Marie Rumsey, oldest child of Bert Henry and Lillian Rumsey, was born at Ravenwood, Mo., June 2, 1896. Marie lived the early years of her life in Missouri. In 1918 she moved with her parents to Geneva, where her father took employment with The Nebraska Signal. The family lived in Geneva until 1940, when they moved to Belden, Neb. They later returned to make their home in Geneva. After the death of her parents, Marie lived alone until her marriage to Roy F. Kennedy of Fairbury, Neb. She was of a very generous and loving nature and made friends wherever she went. Marie was very interested in her church and accepted Christ as her Savior when she was 18 years of age. She is survived by her husband, Roy, who is in a nursing home at Beatrice, two sisters, Mrs. Mable McMillian of Los Angeles and Mrs. Maude Comer of Brule, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Engeline Rumsey of Geneva, and several nieces and nephews. Her brother, Judson Rumsey, lost his life in service in World War II. Mr. and Mrs. Max Comer and daughter Cheryl of Brule were out of town relatives here for the funeral. Funeral services were held at the Kritner-Farmer funeral home in Geneva at 10 a. m. Friday, January 25, 1963. Rev. Alden B. Sears officiated. Ralph Reemts was soloist and Mrs. Norva Mossman was accompanist. Pallbearers were Ben Fussell, Fred Waltemade, Kenneth Heisey, Ralph Reemts, John Edgecombe and Tyler Edgecombe.
