Description	:	RUMSEY, LILLIAN MAY—Mrs. B. H. Rumsey passed away at the Geneva General hospital Wednesday, November 29, 1950, aged 82 years, 9 months and 10 days. She suffered a stroke at her home two days before and never regained consciousness. She was in her usual health until the sudden stroke. Rumsey passed away at the Geneva General hospital Wednesday, November 29, 1950, aged 82 years, 9 months and 10 days. She suffered a stroke at her home two days before and never regained consciousness. She was in her usual health until the sudden stroke. Lillian May Russell, daughter of Robert and Sarah Russell, was born at Halifax, Nova Scotia, January 26, 1868. She was united in marriage to Bert Henry Rumsey at Grant City, Mo., July 14, 1895. To this union six children were born. Twins, Mary Ethel and Robert Emery, died in infancy. Judson Harmon gave his life, "the last full measure of devotion," for his country in World War II. Surviving her are three daughters: Addie Marie Rumsey of Geneva, Bertha Mabel McMillian of Los Angeles, Cal., and Laura Maude Comer of Brule, Neb., eight grandchildren and other relatives. Mrs. Rumsey was a kind and good woman. She was very considerate of others. She tried to make the world a better place. She attended the Methodist church. Her husband was called home November 17, 1947. Mr. and Mrs. Rumsey resided in Missouri, where Mr. Rumsey was in the newspaper business until 1918, when Mr. Rumsey took a position on The Signal, and the family moved to Geneva. He was employed with The Signal 22 years, moving in 1940 to Belden to go into business for himself. Later he was employed on the Laurel Advocate. When poor health caused his retirement, he and Mrs. Rumsey and Marie moved back to their home in Geneva. Funeral services were held at the Hrubesky-Farmer funeral home in Geneva at 2 p. m. Friday, December 1. Rev. Ben F. Wallace officiated. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. The Nebraska Signal December 7th, 1950 page 9.
