Services were held Saturday, Dec. 17, 1983, in Brule for Laura Maude Comer, wife of Max Comer, who died Thursday at the Ogallala Community Hospital. She had been a resident of Brule the past 50 years. Mrs. Comer was born Jan. 11, 1906, in Quitman, Mo., and moved with her parents as a young girl to Geneva, Nebraska, where she graduated from high school in 1923. Services were held Saturday, Dec. 17, 1983, in Brule for Laura Maude Comer, wife of Max Comer, who died Thursday at the Ogallala Community Hospital. She had been a resident of Brule the past 50 years. Mrs. Comer was born Jan. 11, 1906, in Quitman, Mo., and moved with her parents as a young girl to Geneva, Nebraska, where she graduated from high school in 1923. She attended the University of Nebraska where she received a degree in education. She taught in rural schools for several years. On March 18, 1933, she married Max Comer in North Platte. They moved to farm west of Brule, residing there until they retired a few years ago and moved into town. Mrs. Comer was active in the First Congressional Church and was a member of the Women's Circle. She was a former member of the Rebekahs. Survivors, in addition to her husband, Max, include two daughters, Sandra Lee (Mrs. Andrew) Segatti of Denver and Cheryl Kay (Mrs. Jerry) Cleaver of Wray, Colo.; one son, Larry Comer of Elsie; and 11 grandchildren. Services were held at the Brule Congregational Church with the Rev. Albert Masser officiating. Burial was in the Brule Cemetery. Draucker Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements. A memorial has been established to the Brule Ambulance Squad. Published in The Keith County News; Mon., Dec. 19, 1983.
