Description	:	## Obituary ## YORK — Adelia Louise Marie Schepers, 94, of York died Monday, March 21, 2016, in York. A small memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. March 31 at York General Willow Brook. A celebration of life service will be at 11 a.m. April 2 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Shelton. The Rev. Mike Neidow will officiate both services. Inurnment will be at Fairmont Cemetery. Cremation was chosen. Metz Mortuary in York is in charge of arrangements. Cremation was chosen. Metz Mortuary in York is in charge of arrangements. She was born to Ernst and Alvina (Kraft) Meyer on Oct. 20, 1921, near Chester. Adelia graduated from Chester High School in 1938 and attended Peru State College. In 1942, she moved to Hebron where she married Stuart Albert Schepers on Feb. 18, 1945. Adelia worked with him in their Geneva grocery store until they moved to a farm north of Shelton in 1947. Five children were born into this union: James Stuart (wife Marilyn) Schepers of Lincoln, Kenneth Lee (wife Lily) Schepers of Centerville, Ohio, Kendra Lynn (husband Ron) Vance of Lincoln, Stephanie Suzanne (husband Bob) Nielsen of West Lafayette, Ind., and Mary Jean (husband Bob) Kempf of Bradshaw. Adelia and Stuart moved from the farm into Shelton in 1976. Stuart passed away in 1998. In July 2012, Adelia moved to York where she resided at York General Willow Brook until her death. Adelia was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters and her husband, Stuart. Survivors include five children; 16 grandchildren and their spouses; 19 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; residents and staff of Willow Brook; and friends. She leaves behind her faithful companion, “Kitty.”
