Description	:	Edward Blazek, son of James and Mary Blazek, was born in Bohemia, now Czechoslovakia, on March 27, 1864. He passed away on April 7, 1955 at the age of 91 years and 11 days, after an illness of five long years which he met with much patience and fortitude. Mr. Blazek was one of ten children; all have preceded him in death with the exception of a sister, Mrs. Josie Vicker of Cromwell. Read More	Edward Blazek, son of James and Mary Blazek, was born in Bohemia, now Czechoslovakia, on March 27, 1864. He passed away on April 7, 1955 at the age of 91 years and 11 days, after an illness of five long years which he met with much patience and fortitude. Mr. Blazek was one of ten children; all have preceded him in death with the exception of a sister, Mrs. Josie Vicker of Cromwell. He came to the United States at the age of 14 years, settling in Adams County near Williamson and lived in and near that community until he retired from the farm and moved to Creston. On August 8, 1893, he was united in marriage to Miss Anna Mudra, at which time they made their home five miles northeast of Prescott. To this union five children were born to bless the home, two daughters, Mrs. Albena Young and Mrs. Lilly Gibson, three sons, Charles, Joe and Rudolph, all of the Prescott community. In 1926. Mr. and Mrs. Blazek retired from the farm and moved to Creston where they made their home. On August 8, 1943, they were privileged to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Seven years later his companion of 57 years passed away. Mr. Blazek is survived by his sister, three sons, two daughters, 23 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and a host of friends. Funeral services for Mr. Blazek were held Saturday at 2 p. m. at Coen's Funeral Home in Creston. They were conducted by Rev. Bruce Eshelman of Fontanelle Methodist church. Burial was in the Bohemian National Cemetery at Williamson. Music for the services was furnished by Mrs. Duane Krops, accompanied by Mrs. Reed Kline, organist. Songs were "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," and "The Old Rugged Cross." Pall bearers were: Charles Blazek, Leroy Blazek, Burton Blazek, John Blazek, William Young and John Gibson, all grandsons of Mr. Blazek.
