Description	:	Joseph, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Blazek, was born in Bohemia, May 1, 1857. When about 18 years of age he came to America, locating first at Creston, Iowa. He was married to Miss Celestina Cipra on August 3, 1882. To this union five children were born: W. J. Blazek, Christie, Agnes, Clara and Ed F. Blazek. Mr. Blazek was employed by the C. Read More	Joseph, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Blazek, was born in Bohemia, May 1, 1857. When about 18 years of age he came to America, locating first at Creston, Iowa. He was married to Miss Celestina Cipra on August 3, 1882. To this union five children were born: W. J. Blazek, Christie, Agnes, Clara and Ed F. Blazek. Mr. Blazek was employed by the C. B. & Q railroad, first in Creston, and later spending 14 years in Fontanelle for the same company. In 1896 the family moved from Fontanelle to the farm home south of Williamson, which was home to him for the next 41 years. Mr. Blazek was a kind and loving husband and father, an industrious provider for his loved ones, a good neighbor, with a deep sense of appreciation for the principals of honesty. He was a faithful member of the Odd Fellow Lodge No. 250 of Fontanelle, Iowa, for more than 52 years and his devotion to the principals of the order made it possible for his sons and nephews to become active members of the order. He was also a member of the Odd Fallow and Rebekah lodges. On August 3, 1932, Mr. and Mrs. Blazek celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with their children, other relatives and close friends, and in just a little more than a year the clouds of sorrow came upon this happy home in the passing away of his devoted wife on September 6, 1933. He was also preceded into the great beyond by an infant daughter and one son, Ed F. Blazek, who departed this life on December 4, 1931. One brother, Frank, also preceded him into the eternal realm. The last two years Mr. Blazek has made his home with his daughter and son in law, Mr. and Mrs. William J. Vicker of Cromwell, where he departed this life on January 25, 1939, at the age of 81 years, 8 months and 24 days, leaving to mourn his departure his three children. Mrs William J. Vicker of Cromwell, Mrs. James Kosar of Nevinville, and W. J. Blazek of Orient; three sisters, Mrs. Joe Hubatka of Creston, Mrs. J. F. Vicker of Cromwell, Mrs. Charles Duben of Prescott; five brothers, James, Victor, Ed and Will Blazek of Creston and Louis Blazek of Pocatello, Idaho; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews, besides these, many other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Z. M. Bressler of Brooks, assisted by Rev. Edward Garrett of Fontanelle with the Z. C. B. J. and the Odd Fellows lodges in the Williamson hall Friday afternoon. Pallbearers were John Hubatka, Charles Blazek, Jess Blazek, Frank Blazek, Joe E. VIcker and Bill Duben. Interment was made in the Bohemian National Cemetery.
