She was the wife of the late Edwin Chrismer and had been in failing health for some time. A native of Frederick County, she was a daughter of the late George and Annie Jackson Humerick. Mrs. Chrismer was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Emmitsburg, and the Sodality of the church. Surviving are two sons, F. Wayde Chrismer, Bel Air, and John E. Chrismer, Emmitsburg.; one daughter, Sister Mary Paul Chrismer, in Dorchester, Mass.; one stepdaughter, Mrs. William M. Travers, Baltimore; one brother, Albert Humerick, Altoona, Pennsylvania; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Piffer, Baltimore, and 11 grandchildren. Requiem Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Church. Friends will meet at the Wilson Funeral Home in Emmitsburg at 9:30, thence to the church for the mass with Rev. Father Louis Storms officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday evening after 7 p.m. The rosary will be recited at the funeral home Friday at 8 p.m." Obituary for Agnes Jeannette Humerick Chrismer: "EMMITSBURG NATIVE DIES IN BALTIMORE. Mrs. Edwin Chrismer, 88, a native of Emmitsburg and a resident of that community until 1955, died in her sleep Wednesday night at Jenkins Memorial Hospital, Baltimore, where she had been a patient for the last four years. The daughter of George T. and Anna Jackson Humerick, Mrs. Jeannette Agnes Chrismer was born June 13, 1875, in Eyler's Valley, near Emmitsburg. She lived in Emmitsburg until 1893 when her family moved to Baltimore. She returned to Emmitsburg in 1907 and lived there until becoming a patient at Longview Nursing Home, Manchester, Maryland, in 1955. Following the death of her husband at Longview in 1959, Mrs. Chrismer was transferred to Jenkins. A prominent clubwoman for many years, she was president of the Emmitsburg Homemakers' Club for several terms, and was active in the Sodality of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, there. She is survived by two daughters, Sister Mary Paul Chrismer of the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul, missioned now at St. Margaret's Hospital, Boston, and Mrs. William M. Travers, Baltimore; two sons, Wayde, of Bel Air, and John Everett, of Emmitsburg. A sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Pfeiffer, Baltimore, and a brother, Albert Humerick, Altoona, also survives, as do 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Wilson Funeral Home in Emmitsburg where the Rosary will be recited Friday at 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph's Church, Emmitsburg, Saturday morning at 10 o'clock with interment in the church cemetery." Funeral notice for Agnes Jeanette Humerick Propf Chrismer from the Frederick News of Tuesday, April 28, 1964: "Funeral services were held from the Wilson Funeral Home, Emmitsburg, followed by a Requiem Mass at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Saturday morning for Mrs. Jeannetta Chrismer, 88, wife of the late Edwin Chrismer, who died at the Jenkins Memorial Hospital, Baltimore on Wednesday. Father Louis Storms officiated and interment was made in the church cemetery. The pallbearers, all grandsons of the deceased, were Michael, James, David, Stephen and John Chrismer, Jack, Gordon and Carroll Proff, and William Pravers."
