Description	:	Alan Roy Jacobson was born at the family home in Britt, IA to Christian Jacobson (1883-1950) and Emma (nee Anderson) Jacobson (1882-1941). He was the third child of four born to the couple. He graduated from Britt High school in 1938, attended Britt Junior College for two years and entered University of Iowa, Iowa City to matriculate as a law student. He graduated with a BA in 1942. Read More	Alan Roy Jacobson was born at the family home in Britt, IA to Christian Jacobson (1883-1950) and Emma (nee Anderson) Jacobson (1882-1941). He was the third child of four born to the couple. He graduated from Britt High school in 1938, attended Britt Junior College for two years and entered University of Iowa, Iowa City to matriculate as a law student. He graduated with a BA in 1942. On 11 April 1942 he married Marguerite Hall in Mason City, IA or in St. Louis, MO. On 8 February 1943 he entered training as a pilot eventually becoming a First Lt., for the 78th AAF Fighter GP, in WWII. He trained in Baton rouge LA. He left for Ducksford, England on 6 April 1944. Alan Roy Jacobson was shot down and died on 9 November 1944 over Oschelbronn, Germany about 1 km south of the city. In an interview with a witness at the time, he was dead at the time of discovery and was buried in the local cemetery. He was later reburied in Belgium. After the war the family was given a choice and chose to have him reburied in Evergreen Cemetery in Britt, Iowa.
