He first settled in Audubon IA but shortly moved to Britt, IA. On 20 April 1910 he married Emma Anderson in Britt, IA where they made their home for their rest of their lives. The couple had three sons and 1 daughter. He started out running a dray line but quickly adopted that new instrument of transportation, the automobile, and owned and ran a service station which he eventually passed his two surviving sons. After Emma died in 1941, he married Ida Uretta Dyrland on 17 July 1943 in St. Louis MO. Chris Jacobson died 11 Jun 1950 at his home in Britt, Iowa. The cause of death was coronary thrombosis due to arterial sclerosis.
