Description	:	Albert Homan, son of Edmund B. and Ellen Ramsey Homan, was born in Washington Township, Adams County, Iowa, June 13, 1867 and passed away May 7, 1958 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Edith Dustin in Farmington, New Mexico at the age of 90 years, 10 months, and 24 days. Read More	Albert Homan, son of Edmund B. and Ellen Ramsey Homan, was born in Washington Township, Adams County, Iowa, June 13, 1867 and passed away May 7, 1958 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Edith Dustin in Farmington, New Mexico at the age of 90 years, 10 months, and 24 days. He spent his boyhood and young manhood on the farm homesteaded by his father in 1856 and now owned by Mrs. W. E. Ramsey, adjoining the old Adams County First Baptist Church near Mt. Etna. He was baptized and became a member of this church on October 20, 1889, and in later years transferred his membership to Roswell, New Mexico. His education included a memorable winter spent at the agricultural college at Lincoln, Nebraska. He was married December 13, 1895 to Clarissa Foote, who passed away September 13, 1915. They made their home on the farm later occupied by his brother, Oscar and family , which adjoined the east side of the Charles A. Foote farm, also in Washington Township. To this union three children were born: Charles F. Homan of Corning, Iowa; Edith M. Dustin of Farmington, New Mexico, and Edmund B. Homan of Denver, Colorado. In June 1907 he and his family moved to Roswell, New Mexico seeking a climate more favorable to his wife's health. In 1922, Mr. Homan traded his property near Roswell for land in Canada, where he lived for several years. For the past thirty years, he made his home with his children. The later years were spent mostly with his daughter, Edith, who gave him faithful and loving care in the surroundings he had come to enjoy so much. He always enjoyed unusually good health never having been hospitalized until his illness last January, when his sons were called there at that time. Since then he had been gradually improving in health and his passing came very suddenly and unexpectedly. Just last fall he had enjoyed another trip back to Iowa by automobile for a two month visit with his son Charles and other relatives. He took great interest in community, national, and world affairs and enjoyed attending sports events and listening to them on radio and television. During his later years he also enjoyed attending church services via radio at home. He was the last survivor of a family of seven brothers and four sisters. Surviving him, besides his children, are four grandchildren, Calile Dustin Booker of Tallahassie, Florida, Charles B. Dustin of Farmington, New Mexico, Evelyn Homan Schrodt of Creston, Iowa; and Delmar C. Homan of Ames, Iowa; nine great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 10, at 3:00 p.m. from the Roland Funeral Home in Corning, conducted by Rev. Joe Wallace. Interment was made in the Forest Hill Cemetery. Music was furnished by Mrs. Esther Roland with Mrs. Eva Elmore, accompanist. Pall bearers were Weaver Cooper, Walker Cooper, Orville Cooper, Harley Homan, Wesley Homan, and Merritt Dillion.
