Read More	ALBERT WITT, SR., GOES TO HIS FINAL REWARD SUNDAY Had Been Resident of Plymouth County for Nearly a Half Century Albert Witt, Sr., a resident of Plymouth county for nearly fifty years, passed away at his home in this city Sunday afternoon, December 17, 1933, at 6 o'clock, following an illness of several months from complications incident to advanced age. On August 22, this year, he suffered a light stroke, which was followed by dropsical trouble. He had been bedfast since the 10th of November, and he had gradually failed since that time. he attained the age of 77 years and 7 days. Albert Carl Richard Witt was born December 10, 1856, at Neuenhafen, Pomerania, Germany, where he grew to young manhood and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church. He came to the United states in 1886 and located on a farm in Plymouth countyk Iowa, near Le Mars. In 1888 he was married to Miss Margaret Kloi, and two children born to them died in infancy, and Mrs. Witt passed away two years after their marriage. In 1892, Mr. Witt was united in marriage with Miss Mary Stoehr, and their union was blessed with five sons and four daughters. One son and one daughter died in infancy. After living near Le Mars two years, Mr. and Mrs. Witt bought a farm five miles east of Akron, in Portland township, where they lived until thirteen years ago, when they retired from active farm life and have since made their home in Akron. He is survived by his wife, and four sons and three daughters, Mrs. Minnie Reemts, of Akron; Henry Witt, of Kingsley, Ia.; Mrs. Lorena Kallsen, Albert Witt, Jr., Alfred Witt, of Akron; Mrs. Alma Harms, of White, S. D., and Reinheld Witt, at home; also by twenty-one grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Peters and Mrs. Kurth, in this country, and one brother, in Germany. Mr. Witt was a man of sterling character and jovial nature, a kind and devoted husbank and father, a valued friend and a good neighbor. He will be sincerely missed and mourned not only by his family but by a host of friends gained during his long and useful life in this community. The bereaved relatives have the sympathy of all who know them. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, at 1:45 at the home and at 2 o'clock in Trinity Lutheran church, conducted by his pastor, Rev. FRed A. Meske. Interment was made in Riverside cemetery.
