Read More	Pioneer Farmer Dies Suddenly ------ Albert Siemers, one of the pioneers of this great Bowbells county, died at his home in Minnesota township at the hour of four o'clock Sunday morning after an illness extending over several months and due to old age. He had been ailing for some time, and continued to grow worse until his death. Though it was generally believed that the deceased would not live much longer it was not expected that death would come so soon, and the news that he was no more came as a big surprise to his many friends. On the day that he passed away Mr. Siemers was 78 years, 10 months, and 17 days old. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at four o'clock from the Evangelical church six miles north of Bowbells and was attended by an unusually large number of people. The deceased was always held in high esteem by all who knew him and all who could get away paid their last respects to him at the grave. Rev. Jacob Schupp, the resident pastor conducted the services and preached a very able sermon. The remains were interred in the Bowbells cemetery east of town. Mr. Siemers was born in Germany and was married there when quite young. To this union were born six children, four of whom are still living. He came to the United States in 1889 with his family and settled near Courtland, Minn., and after residing there a year he moved onto a farm near Essig, Minn. His occupation both in Germany and this country were farming, and he made a big success of it. While living at Essig in 1890 the deceased's wife died. About fourteen years ago when this great Bowbells country was being settled up, Mr. Siemers with several neighbors came here and took up a claim in Minnesota Township, and he resided on this place up to the time of his death. About 2 years after coming here he was married again, and to this union were born two boys and three girls, all of whom are still living. He had been in good health all his life until his old age, and always worked hard. He was a good citizen, a good neighbor, and always took a great interest in his family. He was highly respected by all who knew him, and his loss will prove a great one to the community. Besides his wife, the deceased leaves to mourn his demise nine children, namely Ditrich of Clinton, Wash., Mrs. Dorothea Miller of Essig, Minn., Ferd of Minnesota Township, Mrs. Sophia Bruns of Gibbon, Minn., and the children at home, Edna, Alfred, Fritz, Flora and Frances. ------ CARD OF THANKS We take this means of thanking our many friends for their kind assistance and words of sympathy during our recent bereavement.
