Read More	FERDINAND SEIMERS, BOWBELLS PIONEER People of Bowbells and community bowed their heads Sunday morning upon learning of the death of one of their most prominent and best beloved characters, Ferdinand Seimers, on of the early settlers in the Bowbells community. Mr. Seimers was born in Esendorf, Germany, March 20th, 1880, and when but nine years old he crossed the ocean with his parents and found a new home at New Ulm, Minnesota. As a youth he worked at the carpenter trade there, and later followed the early settlers to North Dakota, making his first home in North Star Township near Bowbells. Later he moved to farm 1 1/2 miles east of Bowbells until his death last Sunday. He was married December 20th, 1906, to Louisa Redmer, eight children being born to this union. His wife preceded him in death, passing away on May 21st, 1927. In his youth he was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church and became affiliated with the Evangelical church after moving here. Outstanding in his accomplishments as a musician, he was graduated from the Meyer School of Music in Chicago, and gave private lessons to most of the younger musicians in this community. He was especially fond of band music, was leader of the Bowbells band for more than 25 years, and also served on the Bowbells School Board and Treasurer of Minnesota township several terms. For the past several years he has suffered from high blood pressure, and suffered a stroke last Thursday night from which he never recovered, passing to his Eternal Home Sunday morning, Dec. 11th, 1938. Left to mourn his passing are eight children; Mrs. John Koch of Bowbells; Mrs. Joe Green of Long Beach, Cal.; Edward, Raymond, Harry and Ferdinand Jr., all of Bowbells, one sister, Mrs. Dorothea Mueller of New Ulm, Minnesota and four grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Episcopal Church in Bowbells at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, Dec. 14th, with the Rev. G. H. Moritz officiating. Funeral arrangements were in charge of the Olson Funeral Parlors of Knmare. Pall bearers were be Herman Auffarth, Herman Magedanz, Thorvald Peterson, Wm. Dunlap, Lyman Abbott and Chas. Frank. We along with the countless others who were numbered among Mr. Seimers' friends, extend our heartfelt sympathy to those left to mourn his passing. (Obituary spells last name as Seimers.
