Russell, 84, of Fullerton died February 1, 2012, at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island. Services were February 7 at First Presbyterian Church in Fullerton. Pastor Linda Lambert officiated. Burial was in the Fullerton Cemetery. Mr. Russell was born August 4, 1927, at Columbus to Albert and Alma (Held) Russell. He had a twin sister, Patricia, who was born just before midnight on August 3. Albert was born just after midnight on August 4. He grew up on the family farm west of Fullerton. He attended rural school District #5 and graduated from Fullerton High school in 1944. He married Lois Neumann on June 30, 1950, at the United Methodist Church in Fullerton. He farmed the family farm west of Fullerton where they made their home for the last 61 years and raised their five children. Upon retirement, they enjoyed spending winters in Harlingen, TX, for many years. In March of 2011 they moved to Valley View Assisted Living in Fullerton. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Fullerton. He had served as an elder and youth group leader and in various offices. He had served on the rural school District #11 School Board. He was a 4-H member and leader and received the FFA State Honorary Chapter Farmer Award. In 2005 he and his wife received the Nebraska Pioneer Farm Family Award. The farm has been in the family for over 100 years. Survivors include his wife, Lois; three sons, Donn (Carolyn) Russell of Palmer, Dale (Marilyn) Russell of Baton Rouge, LA, and Douglas (Darla) Russell of Fullerton; two daughters, Sharon (Kenneth) Klingelhoefer of Amherst and Janet (Don) King of Fullerton, 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his twin sister, Patricia Hornby.
