Albert Edwin Russell was born August 19, 1895, at Fullerton, Nebraska, and died June 26, 1970, in Memorial Hospital at Fullerton, Nebraska following a short illness. He was 74 years of age. Albert Edwin Russell was born August 19, 1895, at Fullerton, Nebraska, and died June 26, 1970, in Memorial Hospital at Fullerton, Nebraska following a short illness. He was 74 years of age. His parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. John H. Russell. He grew to manhood in the Fullerton community. He attended rural schools in Nance county, Fullerton high school and the Lincoln School of Commerce in Lincoln. On November 15, 1917, he married Alma Emilie Held at Fremont, Nebraska. They farmed in the Pleasant Valley community on the same farm until they retired from farming and moved into Fullerton in 1952. In 1967 the couple observed their 50th wedding anniversary. Mr. Russell was baptized in the Episcopal Church in Fullerton and was a member of that church. He also served as a member of the District No. 5 school board for several years and was a past member of the Eagles Lodge and of the Chamber of Commerce. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Albert E. Russell, Jr.; seven grandchildren, Donn, Dale, Sharon, Douglas and Janet Russell of Fullerton and Pamela and Melanie Hornby of Grand Island; two sisters, Mrs. Ed (Mae) Held and Mrs. Fred (Nellie) Forbes; and a brother, Henry Russell, all of Fullerton. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Robert A. Hornby, on July 8, 1969. Funeral Services were conducted June 29 by Rev. John D. Barklind, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, in Fullerton Memorial Chapel. Pallbearers were Dale Black, Donald E. Kilday, Sr., Vivian McNeff, Arthur Russell, Jack Russell and Roy Russell. Honorary pallbearers were H. A. Elmore, Aaron Hadfield, Leonard Knowles, Neil McCray, Clyde Russell and Louis Vaughn. Burial was in the Fullerton Cemetery. ----------obituary Nance County Journal
