Mrs. Albert (Alma Emilie Held) Russell, Sr., was born on February 16, 1897, in the Shell Creek community near Columbus, Nebraska, and died on November 16, 1982, in Memorial Hospital at Fullerton, Nebraska, following an extended illness. She was 85 years of age. In 1908, she moved with her parents to the Fullerton area. Following her marriage to Mr. Russell on November 15, 1917, the couple farmed in the Pleasant Valley community until retirement in 1952 when they moved into Fullerton. Mrs. Albert (Alma Emilie Held) Russell, Sr., was born on February 16, 1897, in the Shell Creek community near Columbus, Nebraska, and died on November 16, 1982, in Memorial Hospital at Fullerton, Nebraska, following an extended illness. She was 85 years of age. In 1908, she moved with her parents to the Fullerton area. Following her marriage to Mr. Russell on November 15, 1917, the couple farmed in the Pleasant Valley community until retirement in 1952 when they moved into Fullerton. She was a charter member of the Pleasant Valley Extension Club and was an active member in First Presbyterian Church at Fullerton. Survivors include a son, Albert Russell, Jr., of Fullerton; a sister, Mrs. Stella Mueller, and a brother, Frank Held, both of Columbus; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1970; by a daughter, Mrs. Patricia Hornby in 1968; two sisters and three brothers. Funeral service(s) were held November 19 in Palmer's Funeral Chapel here with Rev. Robert Wade of Grand Island officiating. Burial was in the Fullerton Cemetery. Pallbearers were Matthew Bosley, Donald King, Kenneth Klingelhoefer, Dale Russell, Donn Russell and Douglas Russell. ----------obituary Nance County Journal 1969
