Read More	Nebraska Signal Geneva, Nebraska Thursday, July 28, 1932 Death of Albert Gerard After an illness of nine months, Albert Gerard succumbed at his home in Ohiowa, Wednesday, July 20, 1932, at about 10:20 p.m., aged 70 years, 9 months and 13 days. Death came as a result of a stroke last November. His health had been failing for month before the stroke, when other disorders kept him closely to his home. When stricken with paralysis November 19, he was rendered helpless. He was tended to and watched over constantly by his wife, whose health is also on the decline, but she gave all of her strength to lessen his discomfort. Mr. Gerard, during his confinement did not suffer pain to any great extent. The day of his death about 5 P.M. he took a turn for the worse. Three afternoons preceding his death, he showed signs of not being so well. He passed away quietly. The funeral was held from the home at 9:30 Saturday morning with Rev. A. M. Dixon, pastor of the Methodist church in charge of the service. Burial was in the Clausen cemetery. Many friends gathered to pay their respects to the departed. Albert Joseph Gerard was born Oct 7, 1861 at Basco, Ill. When a young man he worked on the con-Ohiowa and Milligan, being foreman. He was located at Milligan as the town began it's growth. When united in marriage March 2, 1890, to Miss Theresa Sieber, he was the drayman at Milligan. After the two children Mamie and Frank, were born, he with his family in 1894 moved on to a farm north of Ohiowa, where, with the noble assistance of his wife, who always shared joys and sorrows with him, they accumulated some land. Theirs was a life with hardship, with little worldly pleasure connected with their toll. They found happiness in the making of their home. Eight years ago they moved to Ohiowa.The last few years spent here was marred considerably by ill health. Mr. Gerard is survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters, Mrs.. Albert Stofer and Mrs. Philip Gould, Frank of Fremont and Ed. One son Joseph died in infancy. Eight grandchildren and many friends and relatives are left to mourn.
