Description	:	GERARD, EDWARD ANTON—Edward Anton Gerard was born to Albert Gerard and Theresa Sieber Gerard on February 28, 1900, at Ohiowa, Fillmore county, Neb. and passed away on May 1, 1981, at the Fillmore County hospital in Geneva at the age of 81 years, 2 months and 3 days. Read More	GERARD, EDWARD ANTON—Edward Anton Gerard was born to Albert Gerard and Theresa Sieber Gerard on February 28, 1900, at Ohiowa, Fillmore county, Neb. and passed away on May 1, 1981, at the Fillmore County hospital in Geneva at the age of 81 years, 2 months and 3 days. He was one of four children in the family. He lived on a farm north of Ohiowa, where he attended District No. 39 school. He was married to Anna Jurica of Ohiowa, Neb., on November 27, 1929, and to them six children were born. In 1941 he moved to Milligan where he worked for a few years and then moved to Strang where he was a mechanic. In 1952 he moved to Shickley, where he worked as a plumber. In 1954 he moved to Geneva to work at the Youth Development Center until his retirement in 1970. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, two sisters and one infant son. He is survived by his wife, Anna, one son, Richard Gerard of Sutton; four daughters, Mrs. Terence (Dorothy) Erickson of Hastings, Mrs. Leonard (Delores) Folkerts of Bruning, Mrs. Dale (Darlene) Fry of Hastings, and Mrs. James (Diana) Johnson of Hastings; and by 19 grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was a loving husband and father who enjoyed his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by all of them. Funeral services were conducted from the United Methodist Church in Geneva at 2 p.m., Monday, May 4, 1981, with Rev. Jay Funk officiating. Mrs. Norval Lomax accompanied Mr. Delwin Myers who sang “Going down the Valley” and “How Great Thou Art.” Pallbearers were grandsons, John and Tom Erickson, Larry and Alan Folkerts, and Casey and Curtis Fry. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery with Framer and Son funeral home in charge of the arrangements. The Nebraska Signal 7 May 1981 page 5.
