Description	:	WAKEFIELD, Neb. -- Alfred D. "Pete" Brown, 80, of Wakefield died Thursday, March 25, 2010, at the Wakefield Health Care Center. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Wakefield, with the Rev. Terry Buethe officiating. Burial will be in Wakefield Cemetery, military rites conducted by the Wakefield Legion Post. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Thompson Chapel Funeral Home in Wakefield. A.D. Pete Brown was born Oct. 28, 1929, in Birmingham, Ala., to Joe Elias and Ida Mae (Brown) Brown. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps at the age of 17 and served 27 months in Japan. After completing his time with the Marines, he joined the U.S. Air Force at the age of 21. He served 13 months in Korea as a senior aircraft and engine mechanic. Pete was transferred to Sioux City and there he met the love of his life, Alice Holm, and they were married Dec. 31, 1953. The couple had three children, A. Daniel, Baxter and Molly. Pete enjoyed most being with his family, and friends stopping by the shop. He loved to fish, tell jokes and stories, and supervise all the family tasks. He is survived by a son, A. Daniel and Kelly Brown; daughter-in-law, Sheila Brown; daughter, Molly and Charlie Curnyn, all of Wakefield; and grandchildren, Austin and Jessica Brown and family, Lacey and Chad Ward and family, Wyatt and Sara Brown and family, Joe and Heidi Brown and family, Amanda Brown, Myles Brown and Nick Curnyn. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice (Holm) Brown; son, Baxter L. Brown; and grandson, Calvin C
