Description	:	Alice Foster was born in Yorkshire, England, September 10, 1833. She came to this county, with her parents, in the year 1841, and when she was a child of about eight years. The family first located in Logan County, Ohio. Subsequently, but in what year we are not informed, the family removed to Illinois and located in Shelby County, and where in 1858, Alice became the wife of Mr. Robert Loy, who survives her. Nine years later, in 1867, Mr. and Mrs. Loy and their then children, removed to this state, to this county, and located... Read More	Alice Foster was born in Yorkshire, England, September 10, 1833. She came to this county, with her parents, in the year 1841, and when she was a child of about eight years. The family first located in Logan County, Ohio. Subsequently, but in what year we are not informed, the family removed to Illinois and located in Shelby County, and where in 1858, Alice became the wife of Mr. Robert Loy, who survives her. Nine years later, in 1867, Mr. and Mrs. Loy and their then children, removed to this state, to this county, and located on the farm, about three miles northwest of this city, that has ever since, until the wife's death on the ninth instant, been their home. It was at all times a happy, peaceful, prosperous home, though affiction had come to its inmates, for God's altar was early established therin and faithfull maintained. The deceased became a member of the Presbyterian Church in her youth, and she continued faithful unto the end. She died in the faith that had sustained her through all of life's trials and vicisstudes. Mr. Loy was the mother of seven children, five of who survive her, viz: Mrs. Joseph L. Barrier, of Spring Creek township and Misses Minnie, Alice, Amy and Myrtle, who are at the family home. Two children, a son and a daughter, died not many months ago and their death surely afficted the mother. She also leaves four brother, residents of Illinois. The funeral services, conducted by Rev. Mr. Curtis, pastor of the Eldorado Presbyterian Church, were held at the family home Saturday afternoon at one o'clcok. From Eureka Herald 17 December 1897 page 1.
