Description	:	Mary Belle Loy, known by her friends as Minnie Loy, was born at Prairie Home, Illinois, on December 18, 1863, and passed away on April 16, 1944, at the Basham Hospital in Eureka at the age of 80 years, 3 months and 28 days. She was the daughter of Robert and Alice Loy, with who she came to Kansas at the age of three years. They settled on a farm known as the Loy farm northwest of Eureka. Read More	Mary Belle Loy, known by her friends as Minnie Loy, was born at Prairie Home, Illinois, on December 18, 1863, and passed away on April 16, 1944, at the Basham Hospital in Eureka at the age of 80 years, 3 months and 28 days. She was the daughter of Robert and Alice Loy, with who she came to Kansas at the age of three years. They settled on a farm known as the Loy farm northwest of Eureka. Mis Loy received her education at District 49. During that time she also helped develop the farm and establish a home for the family. She was a lover of nature and especially loved to hunt. In he younger days she devoted much of her time to painting and music. Miss Loy traveled extensively in the United States and Canada and made two trips to England and Europe. On her last trip to England she spent a year with relatives, and had to return to this county with the outbreak of the First World War. At the death of her father she and her sister, Alice, lived together until the time of her sister's marriage. Miss Loy devoted the rest of her life to her sisters and their families. She was always doing acts of kindness for her friends and neighbors. About three years ago her health began to fail and her last illness began about two weeks ago. Miss Loy leaves to mourn her passing, one sister, Mrs. Mrytle Gray of Eureka; and two nieces, Mrs. Ethel Klein of Reece, and Mrs. Alice Perrier of Eureka; and other relatives and a host of friends. Miss Loy was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters. Funeral service, conducted by Rev. Bert Sutton, was held from the Baird Funeral Home in Eureka, Tuesday, April 18, 1944.
