Prebyl, 83 years of age, of Beatrice passed away at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Beatrice Monday night, October 20, 2008. She was born on February 17, 1925 on the family farm south of Diller, NE. to Gerd and Margaret (Richters) Henrichs. Alice and Calvin D. Prebyl Sr. were married on December 25, 1945 in Diller, NE. and lived in the Diller and Beatrice area her entire life. She was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Beatrice and was a member of the Sarah/Rachel circle and had volunteered at the Community Food Bank; lifetime member of the PTA and Mrs. Jaycees in Beatrice; had been a volunteer at the Beatrice Community Hospital and Beatrice Community Players; past member of the Children's Guild and had decorated the windows at the Bargain Box for many years; member of the PEO, Chapter FM; and former member of the Cottonwood Beach Club near Blue Springs, NE. and the Beatrice Eagles Club Auxiliary. She was an avid golfer at the Beatrice Country Club and was also an avid bridge player. Alice loved her grandchildren very much, and also enjoyed flowers, china painting, entertaining, and was known as a great cook. Survivors include her son, Calvin D. Prebyl Jr. and wife Bonnie of Beatrice; 3 grandchildren, Jason Prebyl and wife Chris of Omaha, NE., Dr. Benjamin Prebyl Esq. of Alexandria, VA., and Angela Watkins and husband Brian of Lincoln, NE.; great granddaughter Addison Prebyl of Omaha; sister in law Cleo Henrichs Perkins and husband Howard of Diller, NE.; and many nieces and nephews. Alice was preceded in death by her parents Gerd and Margaret (Richters) Henrichs; husband Calvin D. Prebyl Sr. on August 31, 2008; 3 sisters, Anna Saathoff, Martha DeBoer, and Marie Schmidt; 4 brothers, Henry, Gerd, Carl, and Clarence Henrichs; and an infant brother Franz Henrichs. Memorial: A memorial has been established with the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in charge. Cemetery: Interment will be in the Prairie Home Cemetery, R. Diller, NE. Visitations: The body will lie in state Thursday from 10-9:00 at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice and at the church one hour preceding the service of Friday. Services: Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, October 24, 2008 at the St. John Lutheran Church in Beatrice with Reverend David Kramer and Reverend Delmar Wiemers officiating. A family prayer service will be held at 9:45 A.M. Friday at the church.
