ALICE BREDEMEIER CHRISTENSEN Alice Christensen died Tuesday, April 7, 1998, at the Eastridge Care Home in Centralia, where she was a resident. She was born April 9, a909, in Seneca, the daughter of Ferdinand Bredemeier and Lillie Christina Louisa Hecht Bredemeier. She was born on the family farm and attended school in Nemaha County. She was baptized and confirmed at the Friedens United Church of Christ, Bern, and played violin in the church band. She worked as a nurse in Pawnee City, NE. until her marriage. Alice married Marius H. Christensen on Nov. 26, 1949, in Pawnee City, NE. He died May 22, 1978. After their marriage Alice and Marius moved to Omaha and lived there until the early 60's when they moved to Belen, NM. Then she returned to Centralia in 1991 because of declining health and to be close to family. She had been a member of the Hanscum Park Methodist Church in Omaha, and a program director at the Mary Martha Circle of the church. She also was a member of the Do Your Best Club and sang in different singing groups over the years. Whilde in New Mexico she attended the First United Methodist Church, where she was secretary-treasurer of the Mary Martha Circle, and a member of the Golden Retrievers Club of Belen, a member of the Senior Citizens group of DelRio and Belen, NM for nine years. She was a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars Auxiliary of which she was Chaplain. Survivors include a stepson, Carl Christensen.
