Albert Peter Hultquist (1872 IL-1964 CA) ----------------------------------------------- DEATH OF MRS. R. E. SUMMERS TUESDAY After several months of illness and suffering, the death of Mrs. R. E. Summers occurred at her home in Loup City late Tuesday morning. The cause of her death was attributed to cancer, from which she had suffered for several years. During the last two months of her life, she was forced to remain in bed most of the time. Funeral services were held from the family home Thursday afternoon in charge of Rev. Geo. M. Carter, pastor of the Methodist church, of which Mrs. Summers was a member. Burial was made in Evergreen cemetery. Alice Mae Totten was born at New Sharon, Iowa, January 15, 1890, the daughter of Jonah G. and Alice Totten. In 1900 the family moved to Elgin, Nebraska, where she grew to young womanhood, and October 1, 1912, was united in marriage to R. E. Summers. To this union three children were born, two daughters and a son. Since their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Summers have resided in several cities throughout Nebraska, moving to Loup City in April, 1919, where they have since made their home. Mrs. Summers passed away at her home Tuesday morning, December 11, 1934, at the age of 44 years, 10 months and 26 days. She leaves to mourn her departure, her loving husband, and three children, Chrystine, Bill Ray, and Carroll [sic] all of Loup City, three sisters, Mrs. A. P. Hultquist of Huntington Beach, Calif., Mrs. Loretta Schultz, of Elgin, Nebr., and Mrs. Mayme Cleavenger of Mullen, Nebr., and her twin brother, W. H. Totten of Elgin.
