Description	:	Alice Anderson Hezel died peacefully May 20, 2012 in Bellevue, Wash. Alice was born in 1918 and grew up in Seattle, Wash. After graduating from West Seattle High School, she became a hostess on the Greyhound Bus Line between Seattle and Spokane. Upon learning of an opportunity to teach dance lessons in the Chelan/Methow communities, she taught students in Chelan, Pateros, Brewster and Methow. Read More	Alice Anderson Hezel died peacefully May 20, 2012 in Bellevue, Wash. Alice was born in 1918 and grew up in Seattle, Wash. After graduating from West Seattle High School, she became a hostess on the Greyhound Bus Line between Seattle and Spokane. Upon learning of an opportunity to teach dance lessons in the Chelan/Methow communities, she taught students in Chelan, Pateros, Brewster and Methow. She fell in love with local aviator and crop duster Alvin (Spider) Anderson at a dance in Pateros. They married in September 1937 and raised three children, Mike, Kurt and Terri, in Pateros. Alice was a wonderful homemaker who worked in the packing sheds in harvest season and owned a dress shop in Pateros for several years. Active in her community, Alice continued to teach dancing lessons to students and later ballroom dancing to adults in the area throughout the years. She was an organist and Sunday school teacher at St. James Episcopal Church in Brewster. She was also active in the PTA, Chamber of Commerce and organized the Pateros Teen Club. She worked for the Pateros Post Office for years and was heavily involved in the changing scene of Pateros during the flooding by Wells Dam. After the death of her beloved husband, Spider, in a crop dusting accident in 1961, Alice moved to Seattle and worked and retired from the Mercer Island Post Office. While living in Seattle, she met and married Robert Hezel, a wonderful and much loved husband, step-dad and grandfather. Together they shared many memories on Bob's boat, "The Skippy II." They later traveled the country in their RV, enjoying the many sites and landmarks around the U.S. They lived in Everett until Bob died of cancer in 2009. Alice lived in Bellevue until her recent death. She is survived by her daughter, Terri, who lives in Alamogordo, N.M., and her son Kurt, who lives with his wife Kay in Snoqualmie, Wash. Her oldest son, Mike, died in May 2011 and is survived by his wife Nina, who lives in Lakebay, Wash. Alice has eight grandchildren and many great-grandchildren whom she dearly loved. Alice was a spirit filled Christian woman and beloved wife and mother to us all. Her church service will be held at the Pateros Community Church on June 3 at 2 p.m. A graveside service will follow at the Pateros Cemetery, and all friends and family are invited to both services.
