Frey, 92, died at her home in Lewisburg, on June 13, 2010, following an extended illness. Born Jan. 27, 1918, she was the daughter of the late George Harrison and Launa Faulkner McMillion. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, the Rev. Dr. Cecil McMillion and Austin McMillion, and a sister, Pinkie Yates. She is survived by her husband, Merrille Frey, of 70 years. Other survivors include a brother, Calvin McMillion and wife, Barbara, of Waldorf, Md.; two sisters, Hazel Moore of Springfield, Va., and Hilda McDowell of Lewisburg. She also leaves a sister-in-law, Catherine McMillion of Warrenton, Va., and many, many nieces and nephews of whom she loved very much and was very proud of their accomplishments. Alma was employed at O.J. Morrions Dept. Store in Charleston as a department manager and sales person. She worked there for 20 years. She retired from the Florida State Hospital as a secretary and inventory clerk in the dietary department. She and her husband moved back to West Virginia in 1978 to retire. Alma was an avid golfer, having made two holes-in-one in one week. She also bowled and loved all sports. She was definitely a people person and enjoyed family gatherings and being with friends. She was a charter member of the Lewisburg Lioness Club, being very active, receiving the "Lioness of the Year" and "Service Award." She was a member of the Lewisburg Chapter OES No. 108. But of all these organizations and activities she was best known for her constant smile for everyone. A special thanks to all the caregivers who lovingly tended to Alma's needs, Beverly Larue, Dorothy Loudermilk, Mary Ann Andrews, Sharon Patterson and Kay Brown. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2010, in the Lewisburg United Methodist Church with the Rev. Joe Kenaston officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Cemetery. Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. today, Tuesday, June 15, at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Hospice Care, 223 Maple Ave., Lewisburg, W.Va. 24901.
