Description	:	Alma Minnie Zabel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Zabel was born in Crawford County, Iowa; three miles north of Schleswig on August 21, 1876. She died at her home Thursday, October 6, at the age of 79 years 47 days. As a child, she was baptised in Trinity Lutheran Church, Grant Township and later was confirmed there in 1890. Read More	Alma Minnie Zabel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Zabel was born in Crawford County, Iowa; three miles north of Schleswig on August 21, 1876. She died at her home Thursday, October 6, at the age of 79 years 47 days. As a child, she was baptised in Trinity Lutheran Church, Grant Township and later was confirmed there in 1890. On March 25, 1896, she was married to Otto Schug. To this union seven children were born. For the next 35 years Mr. and Mrs. Schug farmed in Grant Township. On August 6, 1931 they retired to Ida Grove and have since that time made their home here. During the last several years, Mrs. Schug carried a heavy load of sickness from which she was relieved last Thursday at 5:20 p.m. She leaves to mourn her widow - Mr. Otto Schug, seven children, Minnie Brodersen of Graceton, Minn.; Walter and Arthur of Ida Grove; Rose Kastner of Schleswig; Herman of Hampton, Iowa; Erwin of Ida Grove, and Velda Herner of Ida Grove; 20 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, also 2 sisters, Mrs. Minnie Ernst and Mrs. Emma Christiansen of Schleswig; 2 brothers, August Zabel of Schleswig and Albert Zabel of Cushing and two half sisters, Mrs. Clara Wilson, of Ida Grove, Mrs. Hulda Sebert, Laurel, Mont., and a half brother, Henry Schroeder. Funeral services were held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Ida Grove, Saturday, October 8, 1955 at 2 p.m. Vicar Paul Donner preached the serm on and officiated at the cemetery and the Rev. E. F. Dohrmann officiated at the altar. Burial was made at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Grant Township. Mrs. Elmer Abbe, Mrs. A. F. Kilker, Mrs. Richard Wissink, Mrs. E. F. Dohrmman, sand "Abide With Me" and "What A Friend We Have In Jesus," accompanied by Mrs. Charles Christie.
