She was born on October 3, 1918 at rural Sterling. She was baptized on November 10, 1918 at St. John Lutheran church of Sterling. She received her early education at Saunders Creek School and was confirmed on April 14, 1935 at St. John Lutheran Church of Sterling. She married John G. Huls on April 4, 1937 at the St. John Lutheran Church parsonage. They lived and farmed northwest of Sterling for ten years. They moved into town in 1947 and she cared for her home and family. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Sterling. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and baby-sitting. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eilert and Mareke Weber Parde, one brother, Louis Parde, and two sisters-in-law, Marie Parde and Tena Parde. Funeral services were held February 28, 2000 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Sterling, with Pastor Carlton Hein officiating with burial at the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery. A memorial has been established to the Immanuel Lutheran Church and LWML of the church with Jerry and Elaine Harms in charge. Zink-Fox Funeral home in charge of arrangements.
