Description	:	Alonzo Allard, a resident of Montgomery County, Iowa for more than half a century, died Tuesday afternoon, January 1, 1929 at 2:45 o’clock, his death resulting from pneumonia and hardening of the arteries. He had been ill four weeks. Mr. Allard was born on May 6, 1845 in Franklin County, New York and was 83 years old at his death. He moved with his parents to Scott County, Iowa, living on a farm near Davenport, and in June 1861, he came to Montgomery County, locating in Douglas Township. Thirty years ago he came to Villisca to reside. He was married to Charlotte Sprague at her home near Grant on July 5, 1867. He is survived by his wife and by his four children, Mrs. Laura Allard of Omaha, George Allard of Villisca, Mrs. Mary Farlow of Falls City, Nebraska, and Mrs. H. M. Pettitt of Gallup, New Mexico. He leaves also a brother, Wm. Allard of Valley Junction, Iowa, and one sister, Mrs. Mary Casey of Near Grant. Mr. Allard was a member of the Methodist Church since his boyhood. His funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at the A. B. Wolfe Funeral Home, with Rev. Geo. A. Lawton in charge, and interment will be in the Villisca Cemetery. All of the children are here for the funeral, and other who will be here from a distance are Wm. Allard of Valley Junction, Iowa, H. M. Pettitt of Gallup, New Mexico, and H. E. Allard was born May 6th, 1845 in Bangor, Franklin Co, New York to David Allard and Harriet Catherine Brown. He married Charlotte Spague on March 5th, 1866 in Grant, IA. (Charlotte was born on July 7th, 1850, to Daniel Sprague and Mary Byrd and died April 10th, 1936.) Alonzo died on Jan 1st, 1929 and both are buried at Villisca, Montgomery Co., IA. They had four children: Laura Rosalia, George Washington, Mary Elizabeth (Carl Clayton Farlow), and Marcella Marie (Robert L. McCormick). Laura Rosalia married her Uncle Edward's son, James David Allard (James is pictured in #4, Edward). ALLARD, ALONZO, P. O. Grant; resides on section twenty-seven, Douglas township. Born in Franklin county, New York, May 6, 1845, and moved with his parents to Scott county, Iowa, living there on a farm two and a half miles from Davenport; moved to Montgomery county, in June, 1861, locating in Douglas Township. Mr. Allard has two hundred and six acres of good land as can be found in the county; on his farm is the old Indian burying ground, and many evidences of it still exist, such as beads and other articles prized by that peculiar race of human beings. Was married March 5, 1866, to Charlotte Sprague, a native of Indiana; they have three children: Laura Rosalia, George W., Mary Elizabeth, all living. Mr. And Mrs. Allard are both members of the M. E.
