Description	:	Grandson of Joshua Wilhite FORMER EMPORIAN DIES Alta A.Wilhite, 63, a former Emporian died Sunday at his home in Kansas City. He formerly was national aide-de-camp for Spanish American War Veterans. He was born in Emporia, February 14, 1970, and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. James W. Wilhite. He once worked as a barber at the Mit-Way Hotel. HE enlisted for Spanish American War service at Emporia with Company D, twenty-second Kansas Volunteers, and was discharged after the war with the rank of brevet captain of volunteers. Interment was in the Wilhite cemetery seven miles southest of Emporia where Emporia Spanish War veterans had charge of the services at the grave.
