Alyce Mae Brenden was born on February 7, 1932 at Vienna, SD, the daughter of Olaf and Agnes (Jorgensen) Brenden. Read More	Alyce Siebrands, 89 of Sioux Falls, SD, died Friday, August 6, 2021 at the Avera Dougherty Hospice House, Sioux Falls. Alyce Mae Brenden was born on February 7, 1932 at Vienna, SD, the daughter of Olaf and Agnes (Jorgensen) Brenden. She grew up in this area, attending rural school and then graduated from Vienna High School in 1950. She went on to earn her teacher's certificate at General Beadle College in Madison, SD. She taught rural school for one year in the same rural school she attended in her youth. On September 15, 1950 she was united in marriage to Matthew Siebrands at the Reformed Church parsonage in Willow Lake, SD. The couple made their home in the Willow Lake area for 38 years until moving to Watertown in 1988. In 2001 they relocated to Henry, SD and in 2012 moved to Sioux Falls. Alyce and Matt wintered in Texas for 40 plus years and participated in many mission trips into Mexico. Husband, Matt died on December 25, 2012. Alyce was a member of First Reformed Church in Sioux Falls. She was always active in her church with various church organizations, as a prayer warrior, teaching Sunday School as well as attending and leading many Bible studies. She also belonged to the Gideon's International Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, crocheting and making lefse. She deeply loved her family. Besides her husband and parents, Alyce was also preceded in death by ten siblings. Grateful for having shared her life are her six children: Arlys (Greg) Skyberg, DeSmet, Chrystal (Gordon) Poppen, Sioux Falls, Brenda (Lonny) Warne, Rapid City, Shelly (Darold) Friese, Renner, Doug (Shana) Siebrands, Colorado Springs, CO and Kara (Asen) Ivanov, Harrisburg; 17 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren; one brother, Lloyd (Dorothy) Brenden, Arizona, as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Public services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 12 at First Reformed Church, 4800 S Tomar Rd, Sioux Falls. Visitation, also at First Reformed Church, with the family present, will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials may directed to Gideon's International.
