Contributor: Peggy Bargen Duey (46873059) ============================== OBIT September 1918 Unknown source; probably Nelson Gazette Amanda Davis was born in Nobel County, Ohio, November 17, 1832 died at her home in Angus September 18, 1918, age 85 years 11 months 1 day. She was married to Noah Stotts May 22, 1848. To this union three sons were born, Edward, James and John, James dying in 1906. Noah Stotts passed away in 1856. She was married to William Marlenee October 17, 1858. To this union seven children were born: Louise, Laurie, Ina, Frona, Bertha, William, David, with Laura and Frona dying in 1896 (sic). For sixty-five years she was a devoted member of the church and in the latter years she was a faithful member of the Christian Church at Ox Bow, where she loved to meet with the beloved members and friends, until her failing health no longer permitting her attendance. She was a devoted wife and mother. Her kind words and cheerful smile will long be remembered. She was a pioneer coming to this country in 1872. She leaves to mourn her loss an aged husband, seven children, forty grandchildren, forty-one great-grandchildren, and a host of friends and neighbors. If she had lived until the seventeenth of October they would have been married sixty years. Obituary furnished by Corliss Kruse Clay.
