Deceased was one of the early pioneers of Nuckolls, having resided on the homestead for sixty years. The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, June 23, 1932 ===== Louise Jane Marlenee was born in Guthrie county (sic), Iowa, August 2, 1859; departed this life June 22, 1932, at her home near Nelson, Nebraska. She came to Nuckolls county (sic) the 14th of October, 1872, with her father and mother. She was united in marriage to George Schufeldt April 14, 1883. To this union were born seven children, two daughters and five sons: Fanny, Marley C. of Wymore, Dean M. of Hyannis, Paul, Gandy, Will, Hemmingford, Earl, Nelson, and Opal. She was converted in 1884 and united with the Evangelical church (sic) under Rev. S.P. Dillow; later she united with the United Brethren at Pleasant View and was a faithful and loving member until her crowning. She is survived by her husband, five sons, 29 grand children and one great grand child; two brothers, David Marlenee of Omaha, and Will Marlenee of Lincoln, Nebr.; one sister, Mrs. Bertha Kline of Creston, Iowa, and a host of friends. The two daughters preceded her to the Better Land. The funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at two o'clock in the U.B. Church, W.J. Etherton officiating. Interment was made in Nelson cemetery (sic). Among the out-of-town relatives attending the funeral, were: all the sons, Mr. and Mrs. John Kline of Creston, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Marlenee, Lincoln; Mrs. Port Draper and two daughters, Fern and Enid, Edison, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Norwood, York, Nebr. The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, June 20, 1932; pg. 7
